water

water has saved me more times than i can count

of all of the elements i’m most grateful to water

earth is a close second

water for fluidity

earth for constant reminders of connection

i swim through layers of my consciousness as i glide weightlessly

diving deep and grazing the bottom of the pool with my fingertips

this place has become my safe haven

the calm

the sun

breathwork underwater

i am still so tired

but my soul feels at peace here

i’m convinced water is magic for many reasons

i see the same people here every day

they all keep coming back

the world under water is where everything goes quiet

you can scream and no one will hear

you can close your eyes and just feel

sometimes i think it unlocks a somatic memory of being in the womb

safe and protected from the outside world

my body is limited but here i feel limitless

like anything is possible

but back on land i feel it again

the desire to be submerged in water

cancer season is almost over

but i live here

in the cycles of change, nostalgia and emotion

i’m slowly learning to embrace it

i’m starting to believe i can
